Our Instructors

Gary Brummet

Gary’s teaching experience began in 1972 an assistant trail riding instructor. He became involved with therapeutic riding in 1992 when he became a volunteer and later an instructor at Central Illinois Riding Therapy center where his daughter was a student. In 1998, Gary founded Magic Moments Riding Therapy which became Premiere Accredited center in 2003. During this time Gary’s many roles included lead instructor, therapy horse trainer, and riding coach.

Gary became certified as a Registered Instructor with the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, Inc. in 1999 and in 2005 became certified to teach Success Centered Riding from Brindabella Farms. Gary also has extensive experience as a martial arts instructor. This knowledge, coupled with knowledge of proper dressage techniques, has given Gary a deep understanding of balance and how to help individuals with disabilities to become balanced as they ride. Through Gary’s dedication to the therapeutic riding field many people are well on their way to accomplishing their goals as students and as future riding therapy instructors.

Kristal Brummet

Kristal has been an avid horse owner for over fifteen years.She has trained horses using Natural Horsemanship and Dressage techniques. Kristal has also worked as a professional groom and handler for a major Arabian horse training facility. In early 2006 Kristal joined NARHA and started working on her instructor internship. She spent the next six months working as a volunteer and instructor in training at Magic Moments Riding Therapy. Currently Kristal is continuing her dressage studies and trains the horses for EquiSpirit Riding Academy.
